FAQ
Q: What’s an ISA Certified Arborist®?
A: An ISA Certified Arborist® is an individual who is certified in the art and science of planting, caring for, and maintaining individual trees. To earn the certification, he/she must have a certain level of full-time, eligible, practical work experience and/or a relevant degree and pass a standardized exam. He/she must also adhere to the ISA Certified Arborist® Code of Ethics and meet continuing education requirements to maintain his/her certification.
Q: Why hire an ISA Certified Arborist®?
A: Hiring an arborist is a decision that should not be taken lightly. Well-cared for and properly maintained trees are attractive, live longer, and come with considerable benefits. Conversely, poorly cared for and improperly maintained trees are unattractive, die sooner, and can be a significant liability. Many tree care operations are also inherently dangerous and should be left to competent and insured professionals.
Q: What forms of payment you accept?
A: Cash, check, and/or credit card.
Q: Do you require a deposit?
A: Generally, no.
Q: Do you have a minimum charge?
A: Yes, the minimum charge for any removal and/or pruning job is $150.00 in most instances.
Q: When is payment due?
A: Payment in full is due within 15 days of receipt of invoice. You will only be invoiced after services have been rendered.
Q: Are you insured and how?
A: Yes, we proudly carry both general liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Surprisingly, not all tree services carry the legally required insurance! Learn why hiring a tree service without the proper insurance can be a recipe for financial disaster here.
Q: What’s the difference between a free estimate and a paid consultation?
A: Our estimate & consultation policy covers that in more detail.
Q: How soon can you get to my job?
A: During the busy season (Apr – Nov), it may take a month or longer to get to a larger job. An emergency and/or smaller job can typically be worked in sooner. More detailed info can be provided during the site visit.
Q: I want to know about fill in the blank and trees, are there any good resources you can recommend?
A: Yes, the Client Resources page on our website is an excellent place to start.
Q: How do I get some wood chips from you?
A: If you contact us, we can put you on our list of people wanting wood chips. If we are in your area and you can accept them on short-notice, we can often deliver them for free to your location. Alternatively, special delivery arrangements can also be made for a modest fee.
